I really must remember to blog more. I don't know why I keep forgetting. The idea of blogging just isn't entering my head lately. Anyway, as somewhat expected, I haven't been doing much. I've slowly been working on my essay, and planning for my exam. Rory came on Tuesday and we've been watching DVDs and arguing. Yesterday he cooked apple crumble which was very good. We also went into town and I finally got my labia pierced. It's not painful unless I have to touch it, when it will hurt for a short while. To complicate things though, my period came this morning. Yum.

It being my dad's birthday on Friday, and Robert being at a party, we went for a celebratory meal last night, as is our custom. We had previously agreed on
Georgetown, a "colonial Malaysian restaurant" in the city centre and had booked for half past eight. When we arrived we were offered seats near the bar though the waiters strangely did not offer us menus and we had to ask for them ourselves. I ordered a diet Coke, without ice or lemon, which turned up with lemon. We were shown to a table before they took our food orders, which is rather unusual. The menu was split into four courses instead of the standard three, and for the first course I chose vegetable dumplings, which turned out to be shredded vegetables in a limp pastry wrap. Quite nice though. After a long wait the second course arrived, I had elected for roast peppers and asparagus with rice. This was another small dish, and was a large base of rice on which 2 asparagus stalks and a handful of sliced pepper rested. I would have preferred more vegetables, but what there was was nice. I had long since finished my Coke and moved on to lemonade, as more than one glass of Coke has a habit of keeping me awake. These helpings of lemonade weren't particularly satisfying, the glasses arrived half full, which I found out to be due to them being poured from 125ml bottles. Which we were being charged £1.20 a time for. I soon moved on to water, which they forgot to bring for quite some time. After a wait in the regions of three quarters of an hour after our second course, our main dishes arrived. It was after half past ten by this point, most restaurants would have had you out of the doors by then. I was crawling up the walls with boredom. I had ordered a vegetable claypot dish for my main, so I was somewhat surprised to find it had prawns in it. Naturally it was sent back, but the replacement took fifteen minutes to arrive. The mushrooms and tofu in it were quite nice, the rest in it was pretty mediocre. After looking at the desert menu I realised there was nothing I fancied which sounded vegan so decided not to have a sweet. Robert and my dad did though, which of course took some time to arrive. And then they all wanted coffee. I didn't get home until after half past midnight, by which point I was hungry again. The stupid amounts of time we were forced to wait, combined with the inept waiters, ruined what could have been a nice evening.
Now that I'm on holiday, I don't have much to keep me occupied with during the days. I now truly understand that "every day is like Sunday." Tomorrow I have to go see whoever is being my psychiatrist this month, then Rory's coming to stay on Tuesday. It looks like we'll be doing a good bit of arguing as he claims he needs my computer to do work and I need it to write my coursework essays. And that's all the news I have.

Gosh, it's been a while since I last updated. Somehow I just keep forgetting to. Thom was here and we had lots of hugs and went to Tropical World and ate pizza, I finally got my exam paper, I've been spending too much money on Ebay, Rory comes on Tuesday, it's my dad's birthday tomorrow, I have too much work to do and I have an ace jumper with pictures of donkeys on it. Welcome to my life.

My photography tutor didn't come in today. We weren't given a reason so it's feasible he just fancied a lie-in. We were mean to be given our exam papers too, I wanted mine so I can be thinking about it. Plus I had no other work I could be doing, so I went to the supermarket then came home. I've had a lazy day of sleeping and reading
Plan B. I should have been starting on my essay about art and madness for Contextual Studies, they have to be handed in next month, but my levels of inspiration and arsedness weren't very high. It's been a good day though as I really enjoyed walking in to college. The weather has taken a turn for the better, the snow and rain has gone and this morning was warm (for 8:30am in March) and sunny with blue skies and a smattering of clouds. The birds were singing and I felt content, even though I knew they were probably just shouting out things like "I've got a right big wanger, who rounds a quickie round the back of the old people's home?" as birds are wont to do. Tomorrow night I'm off to the cinema, and Thom is coming to stay for the weekend. Next Saturday I'm going for a meal at a
posh restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday (55!). They do Malaysian cuisine, something I've not experienced before. And finally, have
a panorama from the top of Everest. It's certainly something.

I've been doing relatively exciting things since I last blogged. Robert Dane and I went to an art exhibition last night which I had found out about from picking up a leaflet in college. It was to be at a launderette, which piqued my interest, and Robert's too. It was quite crowded when we got there and thus we didn't stay for long. Plus we were plied with piles of
Kettle Chips which inevitably made me feel fat. From listening in to conversations it seems the organisers were college students, but we both felt very excluded. No one spoke to us, people were only talking to those they already knew, greeting their friends loudly and boisterously. There was a large proportion of the dumb blonde stereotype there for some unfathomable reason, who seemed to be hogging all the nuts and crisps. The art itself was a bit sparse though some things were quite interesting. We stayed about twenty minutes then came home.
We went to see
A Very Long Engagement on Wednesday which was rather wonderful, though very gruesome. A large portion of the film was set in the trenches of WWI, and they didn't skimp on the reality of it. There were some nice corsets, it must be said, though inevitably not enough for my tastes (the only film which comes close to meeting that is
Moulin Rouge). Next week we're going to go see
Vera Drake.

Things I have seen today:
- A
lot of sleet, rain and snow.
- A pretty girlie asking for directions a minute from my house. I wanted to say, "No, I don't know it, sorry, but I can help you find my bedroom if you like."
- Apple ice cream with biscuit chunks, cinnamon and allspice in the Co-Op. I wanted this very badly.
- The inside of the doctors' waiting room. For over half an hour. And when I finally went in, not a mention of the fact I had been waiting so long, let alone an apology.
- A notice saying that there is a pilates class starting up the road today, running every Wednesday morning until the end of April. I might actually be able to attend this, as it's in a morning and not evening and thus I won't be knackered from being at college all day.
Things I will be seeing later:
